March 2020: Brandishing a weapon

WHAT IS THE NOTICE

A crime has occurred that does not meet CLERY timely warning criteria, but it is necessary to notify the community due to lack of suspect identity.

LOCATION OF INCIDENT/CRIME

Lot 25//630 Orchard Rd, Davis, CA 95616 // 417 PC “Brandishing of a Weapon”

SUMMARY OF CRIME/INCIDENT

On 3/5/2020 at 1133 hours, the victim reported a “road rage” incident that occurred at 0900 hours at La Rue Rd and Orchard Dr. The victim honked at a vehicle stopped in front to move faster through the traffic signal. The driver of the suspect vehicle poked his head out of the window and “flipped” off the victim.

The suspect vehicle, a tan of grey Honda CRV, followed the victim into Lot 25 parking lot. As the vehicle passed, the victim saw the suspect driver pull out what appeared to be a black pistol and displayed it on the edge of the door. The suspect driver did not point the gun at the victim. The suspect driver said something to the victim, but the victim could not hear due the car windows being rolled up. The driver then drove away in an unknown direction. The victim provided the descriptions of the suspects and suspect vehicle listed below.

This crime is currently unsolved and an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this or similar incidents should call UCDPD at 530-754-COPS (2677). Updates regarding this incident, when and if available, will be posted on the UCDPD website at https://police.ucdavis.edu

Suspect driver: Asian male, mid 20s, “college” type clothing. Suspect passenger: Asian male, mid 20s, “college” type clothing. Vehicle: tan or grey Honda CRV.
