The UC Davis Police Department is proud to present our campaign against Distracted Driving (Full implementation Fall 2016)
“Distracted Driving” is a UC Davis Police Department traffic safety campaign consistent with the California Highway Patrol, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and California Office of Traffic Safety program titled “Cell Phones, Texting. It's Not Worth It. It's Just That Simple”.
This UC Davis Traffic Safety campaign focuses on the Davis and Sacramento campus student population. This campaign is unique in the fact it will also focus on bicycle traffic safety and all forms of distracted driving. It is noteworthy that in 2013, 3,154 people were killed and an estimated additional 424,000 were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers.
Watch for Officer Ray Holguin and his specialized traffic safety car on the Davis and Sacramento campuses. join us in keeping our students safe, "Don't Text and Drive".
