Aggie Host Security Division

The Aggie Host Security (AHS) program provides a variety of security and public safety functions on the UC Davis Campus. Aggie Host Security Officers are non-sworn, part time, student security personnel who support the mission of the UC Davis Police Department by providing a variety of services, including:

• UC Davis Safe Ride Services, a free service provided to students, staff, and faculty who need a ride to or from one on campus location to another and to an off campus location, after 8pm. Please visit our Safe Ride page for more information on this particular service.

• Special event security for concerts, athletic competitions, theatrical performances and other large-scale campus events such as Picnic Day and the Whole Earth Festival. Special event security does incur a charge.

• Site Surveillance at various locations on campus to deter vandalism, fire damages and/or burglary. Services are available daily and overnight, both short term and long term, depending on the situation. Site surveillance requested for a specific building or area does incur a charge.

• Security Patrols are completed on a daily basis across the UC Davis campus, housing areas, and parking lots. Aggie Hosts serve as a deterrent and report security concerns suspicious activity.

Aggie Hosts Security Officers complete other duties as assigned, and work directly with other tiers of the UC Davis Police Department to contribute to overall campus safety and security.

Aggie Host Security Officers are trained to enhance campus diplomacy, diffuse disruptive behavior, minimize risk through access control countermeasures, manage large crowds, and to execute stringent inspection protocol for events.

Aggie Host Security Officers wear distinguishable tan and navy uniforms that read “Student Security” and are equipped with portable radios that provide a direct link to the UC Davis 911 Emergency Dispatch Center. Aggie Host vehicle are labeled as either Safe Ride or Aggie Host Security.
