This regional advocacy meeting will bring together representatives from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Yolo county and the state of California, with partners from UC Davis Student Health and Counseling and the UC Davis Police Department.
Regarding recent incidents in the city of Davis and on the UC Davis campus: I’d like to reassure you that both the city and campus police departments are working to investigate the incidents. We have identified suspects and made arrests in several of the cases.
This letter provides some insight into my vision and goals as the UC Davis Police Department renews our awareness and understanding of the nobility of policing.
Our police department intends to be a national model in campus law enforcement. We will seek IACLEA accreditation as a first step to certify that our practices meet professional standards and go beyond the status quo.
